Other Pets at Shiredale
Samson- a 2yr old Pygmy Goat that was given to me due to incompatibility issues
at his previous home (had some dogs that attacked Samson hence the scars on his
back).  Very cute and very friendly.  Good all around little guy!  He is also known
as the Gypsy Goat :)!  He is best friends with Johnny...they are a cute pair!  Now
that we are in Arizona his new best bud is Jack the Donkey.  You can see some
of him on
Avril's page
Next is one of two cats that I rescue from two different local animal shelters.  The one pictured at right is Chleo is a 2yr old Tortishell female
that I adopted at the Petsmart I worked at but she was originally from Cheyenne Animal Shelter in WY. She was a feral cat so is not as loving
and affectionate as the other but she shares her affection in her own ways and one of those is hogging my pillow even though there are 3 other
ones for her to sleep on :).
The one pictured above is Daisy, she is a 1.5yr old Siamese female that I adopted from the Larimer Humane Society here in Fort Collins.
She is a super affectionate cat and in typical Siamese fashion has to tell you about her WHOLE entire day the second you enter the door :).  I
grew up with Siamese and I love them so when I saw her homeless, I knew the perfect home for her.  She is generally a lot more photogenic
but at the time the photo was taken she was licking her chops and congratulating herself on a successful Fly hunt and capture.  The Fly was
given no options except an immediate death penalty :)!  I have had both girls for just over a year now and hope to have many more with both!
For those that know me, know that I can't help but rescue/help animals in need and here are some of the residents that
currently reside at Shiredale!
My newest partner in crime!  This is Lizzie, she is a 10 week old (as of March 15th
2007) Shiba Inu puppy.  She is my second Shiba Inu, my first is a black/tan male
named Luke that currently lives with my parents.  Shiba Inu's have always been one
of my favorite breeds, second only to the Doberman Pinscher.  For those that don't
know about Shiba's, they originate in Japan and are probably Japan's oldest dog
breed.  They are very fox like and are used to protect properties and hunt small
prey.  They look like their larger cousin's the Akita's with the spritz tail but other
than that they are very fox/cat like.  They can be little terrorists and they are
infamous for the "Shiba Scream" something you REALLY don't wish to hear (is
essentially an extremely high pitched scream...it literally sounds like they are dying!)
and their bad habits are door bolting and once they are free they forget all of their
obedience training.  But other than that they are extremely sweet, kind, caring dogs
that are always on guard and will alert even with the littlest of sounds.  All in all
though, they are my love and can't imagine my life without one in my life! Lizzie's
first and only experience with snow below.

first arrived March

Lizzie wearing her cowgirl
uniform.  She is a farm girl after
all so has to wear the
appropriate clothes :)!
Here is the newest member of Shiredale.  Here name is Lilly Rose
(Lilly for short) and she is a 7-8 month old Miniature Pinscher
puppy.  She is currently wearing her shirt as she was recently
spayed so we don't want any infections back there :)!  She came
from Jen's rescue ARC, here in Phoenix.  She originally came in
with a broken leg so is on crate rest for the next two weeks to keep
her quiet until the next x-ray which will ensure the surgery made
the bone 100 percent again.  Then she will be living up life with
Lizzie, they are already madly in love with one another and can
hardly wait for their friendship to continue outside of the bars!  She
is just too cute for words and is the typical Min Pin in that she
loves to be held, sit in my lap, and is fun to watch her (limited at
the moment) antics.  She is sure to be a permanent member of
Shiredale and will be quite comical when she is back to 100 percent!
The final canine inhabitant of Shiredale is Jake, a Min Pin male that was born
around Jan 15th 2008.  He came into Sonora (Jen's clinic) after he "fell off of a 3rd
story balcony" and hit the ground below.  He had a massive head tilt but other than
that acted mostly normal considering his fall.  Jen informed me of him, and so I
went in and visited him, my first time holding him he growled at anyone that came
up to me :).  I knew he was meant to be so after his owners failed to come back in
and claim him he was destined to be mine.  His head tilt has gotten tons better but
he is still a VERY special dog :)!  He gets confused easily :)!

Lizzie sleep on the
