Maddie is a stunning Grey Shire mare bred by Fox Valley Shires and
owned from weanling through 17 years old by Black Forest Shires! I
met Maddie in 2003 when visiting BFS to view Heidi. Two years later
I ended up working for them and fell in love with Maddie and when
Heidi returned to BFS for breeding Heidi and Maddie connected as if
they had never been seperated. Was able to purchase Maddie from
BFS on May 3rd 2007 and she has lived with Heidi and her
granddaughters ever since! Maddie and Heidi are identical in every
way; size, shape, personality, quirks, everything! Maddie has had 3
fillies, Heidi in 1997, Reggie a filly by Rom Baro in 2004, and Maisy a
filly that looks identical to Heidi by Galway Warrior in 2005.
Attempted breeding Maddie in 2008 and she took with a Joey baby.
Unfortunately in November 2008 she came down with a uternine
infection, and after two weeks of valiant fighting babies heart stopped
beating. Maddie aborted a couple days later due to being on
Regumate, and that was the final straw in her breeding career. Maddie
is fully enjoying retirement and can often be found eating with her
granddaughters Avril and Adrianna!
