Fort Worth Stock Show Gypsy World Show (Dual judged)
Horses attended: Dinah
Class Results:
Gypsy Horse In Hand Trail- 4th & 6th out of 15 horses
Gypsy Horse Senior Mare- 4th & 6th out of 9 mares
Gypsy Horse Broken Color Mare- 3rd & 5th out of 9 mares
Dinah was super well behaved throughout the show, even though she wasn't
quite what the judges were looking for (she is a BIG traditional pulling mare
style and that wasn't the popular style at this show).  She is still my favorite
Gypsy and was one of the favorites of the Gypsy breeders in attendance.  Not
every judge is going to like her and that is a part of showing!  Dinah was a
fabulous example of the Gypsy throughout the days walking in and out of the
crowds and allowing many people to pet her and get their first experience with
a Gypsy.  At the end of the day, that is the best part allowing people to get to
interact with this beautiful horses!  Dinah is now done with showing till the fall
as she is due to foal March 15th and then will be caring for her baby!  Look
for her at more shows in the fall!
2010 Parada Del Sol Parade February 20th 2010
Horses attended: DJ Flash (pictured at left), DJ Cushla, DJ Coates, & Ruby
Sky Annie
This year the parade's theme was "Think Pink" for Breast Cancer
Awareness, so we decked the horses out in pink!  Unfortunately Dinah wasn't
able to attend as it was too close to her foaling date and she was miserable
and not up for the 3 mile walk, next year she will be there again though!  I
great job as did all the horses in our group!  Unforuntately it decided to open
up and down pour just minutes before we started the parade route and lasted
teh entire parade route.  It was cold and wet and kinda miserable but we
made the best out of it and had fun and look forward to being able to attend
again next year!
Father/Daughter Dance @ Chaparral Christian Church, February 20th 2010
"Shires After Dark"
Horses attended: Heidi and Adrianna
We were asked to supply a couple horses for the Father/Daughter dance at
daughters and their fathers pet them and take pictures next to them.  Pictured
at left is Heidi and Adrianna waiting in the trailer for their performance.  The
rain had pretty well let up by night fall but was still a bit cold and sprinkles
here and there so they got to hang in the trailer till they were needed.  They
were absolute stars like they normally are and Adrianna was used for all the
photos :).  Adria is SURE to follow in her mothers footsteps and take over all
her mom's duties when her mom is retired (which shouldn't be for years to
come but is reassuring knowing there is another girl waiting in the wings if
anything should happen to Heidi).  They are truly the dream team!
Trail Ride @ AZ Horse Lover's Park, March 3rd 2010, Phoenix, AZ
awhile then hit the trails.  Of course of all the days we picked, they were
shots, clouds of smoke, etc.  The horses did phenomenal and didn't even
bother them!  Go Girls!
Dinah gives birth to her first baby, a colt named Flint.  March 16th 2010
9:30am
After waiting weeks for junior's arrival, Dinah finally decided to allow him
to grace our presence on March 16th.  He was built right from the get go,
with amazing bone, feather, beautifully compact and a nice deep red color to
boot!  Flint is super sweet like both of his parents and is sure to make a
potential herd sire at some point!  Congrats Dinah and Welcome Flint!

2010 Parde of Palms Parade, Chaparral Christian Church March 27th 2010
celebrate the Parade of Palms!  Heidi and Adrianna also participated last
year when Adrianna was just a 1 month old, so people that knew them were
shocked at how big Adria has gotten!  Both girls did absolutely wonderful as
of the parade!  These two truly are my superstars and don't know where
would be without them!
2010 Fiesta Days Parade, Cave Creek AZ, April 10th 2010
Heidi & I joined our friends at the Feathered Horses of Arizona group to
parade the feathered breeds of Arizona at the groups first parade!  There
were Gypsies and Drums and then the Shire being miss Heidi!  It was a
great LONG 4 mile parade total between getting to where we need to be of
Cave Creek with traffic going by.  None of the horses cared even in the
April 16th 2010- Belle introduced her new colt to the world at 2:30am, a
bay Drum colt sired by DJ's Flash of Gold!  He is a Bay with 4 whites
and a blaze.  He is super sweet already and is a BIG boy!  Congrats
Belle and welcome to the world Devin!
2010 Events:
September 1st 2010-  Moved the Shiredale horses to their new property
in Scottsdale, AZ.  They are now all living together in the same pen!
The nicest thing, it backs to a 10 acre Equestrian park where you can
ride in the grass pasture area or the arena.  Will be perfect to work the
girls and is SO quiet they will be SO happy here!
August 3rd 2010- Dinah was weaned from her first baby, Flint.  They
both did it perfectly!  They were both pretty independent of one another
already so weaning was easy especially with Flint being able to get
weaned with his 1/2 brother Chili Pepper.
September 11th 2010- Flint is now sold and left today for his new home
in Texas!  Congratulations Silver Meadow Gypsy's in Texas on your
new stallion prospect!  Going to miss little Flint but he is in an excellent
home!
September 12th/13th 2010- We once again made our annual pilgrimage to
San Diego, CA for our "Beach Trip".  My friend Wendy with her Gypsy
Windsor and I met up with Sandi and had a blast letting the horses play at
Fiesta Island.  Then on the 13th we headed down towards the Mexican
border and went to Imperial Beach and went for an 8 mile ride on the
beach!  The horses did excellent, unfortunately the tide was in so the ocean
was rough, hopefully next year we will be galloping through the waves :)!
October 26th 2010-  Fox Valley Iced Coffee, a Shire mare of Jen's, came
for a one month trial at Shiredale after failing to thrive.  She's done great
here and it's official, she is here for the rest of her days!  Also come to
find out Java is maternally 1/2 sister of Maddie!  Java is best buds with
Heidi too, so is great having her here!  Welcome Java!
Pictures and Info on Autumnfest and Fall Festival coming soon!
November 29th 2010- Today I had to say goodbye to one of my best
friends :(.  We humanely euthanized Joey, our amazing Shire stallion and
sire to Adrianna, after he started colicing on the 27th, after trying to
medically manage him we realized was something far greater, so took
him to Southwest Equine Medical and Surgical Center, where was
determined he needed surgery to survive.  He went for surgery and we
gave him 2 days for his gut to start moving again which it didn't so we
made the heart breaking decision to let him go before he started to suffer
:(.  RIP Joey, you were my best friend, my love, and yes even my
"boyfriend".  I will miss you forever and your beautiful legacy lives on in
your high quality offspring!  Heidi and Faye are both expecting foals by
him in 2011.
December 10th, 11th, 12th- Follow the Star Performances, Scottsdale AZ
Our annual Christmas event, where Heidi gets to play King Herod's horse,
and we usually have Dinah being her support actress for comfort.  With
Joey's recent departure I decided to honor him by giving Dinah the nights
off and letting Heidi and Joey's daughter, Adrianna, take her place.  So
Heidi and Adrianna were performing at the event side by side, they did a
beautiful job and were excellent as always.  Adrianna is turning out SO
beautifully and will surely do Joey proud throughout her years!
